The snow-white little one greets the world

Is it a sign of spring? A rare albino red-necked wallaby poked his head out from his mother’s pouch on Wednesday at a zoo in Gettorf, Germany. Smaller than their lookalike relatives, kangaroos, wallabies also originated in the Australia and New Zealand areas, but generally prefer more remote areas for living and breeding.

Regardless of size and habitat, albino babies are uncommon for both wallabies and kangaroos, so this baby’s birth (not to mention its public appearance) is a big treat for zoo-goers. Welcome to the world, little one!
