Happy National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week! This week, Nov. 1-7, is the time to show our local rescues and shelters how much we appreciate the work they do. We’ve teamed up with Romeo the Cat and Big Paw Designs to recognize animals and their people who are making a difference in their community.
Today’s featured “do-gooder” is Dr. V., a small animal veterinarian (and mom to pooch Brody, pictured) living in sunny San Diego, Calif., who blogs at Pawcurious.com. She has pledged to do a 24-hour blog-a-thon this weekend, from Friday evening until Saturday afternoon. She’ll do one blog post an hour, and any donations she receives will benefit her local shelter, the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA. Click here to support her efforts!
Dr. V.’s sponsors and donors will be eligible to win fun prizes throughout the event, too. Romeo the Cat finds her to be a very entertaining writer, so she’ll definitely be able to keep everyone interested for the whole 24 hours! Mark your calendars and visit Dr. V.’s blog this weekend.
Send your shelter appreciation story to firstname.lastname@example.org, along with a photo, and you may be featured on Romeo the Cat and PEOPLEPets.com, too! Every day, Romeo is selecting a winner to receive a Rescue Mom or Rescue Dad car magnet or sticker, courtesy of Big Paw Designs.
