Paris Hilton, not one to be left behind when it comes to trends, has been swept up by the international fever for tiny pet pigs. She announced via Twitter that she had purchased a miniature pig named Miss Pigelette.

“So excited for my new piglette to come home to me,” Hilton wrote about the black-and-white-spotted pig.

Miss Pigelette comes from Patty Sorenson, a miniature pot-bellied pig breeder in Oregon. Sorenson’s website, royaldandie.com, bills the animal as “America’s smallest breed of miniature pig.”

Sorenson offers two varieties, Royal Dandies (29-39 lbs.) and Dandie Extremes (19-29 lbs.). Miss Pigelette is a Dandie Extreme, which can cost from $3,500 to $4,500.

Hilton, who has been criticized by animal advocacy groups for her ongoing collection of pets, told PEOPLEPets.com in July that she currently has six dogs – who share a backyard mini-mansion. And this summer, the heiress also added a rescue kitten named Princess Annabelle to her brood.
