Miranda Lambert's Favorite Doggie Snapshots
The best country album and her husband (and best country solo performance nominee), , are frequently expanding their menagerie of pets, which, as of November 2012, includes six rescue dogs. “I don’t plan on having [children] for a while,” she told PEOPLE Country. “To me, my dogs are my children.”
ALL TOGETHER NOW
The crooner can never say no to a cuddle party with her dogs – despite husband protests. “The little ones sleep with us, and when they stay with their grandparents, we let the big dogs sleep with us one by one,” she said. “They all want to get under the covers, and Blake’s not too thrilled.”
As a child, Lambert’s family had a yellow Labrador named Cooter Brown, whom she credits with kickstarting her love of animals. “He never left my side,” she said. “He would come to my tea parties, and I would put bonnets on him. He was just awesome, and I’ve loved dogs from day one because of him.”
While Delilah sat pretty for a photo shoot with Mom, Lambert’s A-list status doesn’t seem to faze her. “I can give the biggest show of my life, and my dogs don’t give a damn,” the blonde beauty said. “They’re just happy to see their mom.”
These days, wherever the CMA champ goes, her dogs often follow – with Delilah and Delta tagging along to catch some rays poolside.
TAKING A 'PAWS'
And it’s not just her own pets Lambert loves! At the 2010 Academy of Country Music Awards, she took a moment backstage to cuddle up to a pint-size pup with pal , who’s a dog mom herself to pooches Penny and Ace.
