She’d made her voice heard before, but Lea Michele is getting even louder when it comes to her passion for New York City’s carriage horses.

The Glee songstress and animal activist has joined PETA in a new campaign to take the city’s popular tourist attraction and rid it of the animal element.

“Imagine for a moment that you’re forced to do hard physical labor all day, seven days a week – whether it’s sweltering hot or freezing cold outside,” Michele said through PETA. “At the end of the day, instead of relaxing on [an] easy chair or sleeping in a comfortable bed, you are locked in a tiny closet all night long.”

The actress is calling for action in the form of a boycott of horse-drawn carriages in New York City. For more information on Michele’s PETA campaign, check out the organization’s website.
