Contact lenses for people? Fine. But contacts for cats? Really? Yes, says the owner of Ernest the cat, 15. “The lenses have worked wonders,” says Paula Sadler, who is the owner of the kitty who suffers from an eye condition that has hindered his eyesight. “Before Earnest was given the contact lenses he was quite squinty and had trouble seeing where he was going … Now his eyes have opened up and he has a new lease of life.” The lenses were fitted by a vet, according to the Daily Mail, and have saved Ernest from a risky operation to fix his eye condition. They help the elderly cat find his way around the RSPCA center that he’s lived at for the past 13 years.
