Jada Pinkett Smith: I Rescued a Street Dog from Beijing
The actress also dishes on her family's two cats, four other dogs and pair of snakes
As if Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith weren’t busy enough with three children, Trey, Jaden and Willow, the megawatt stars also have quite the menagerie to tend to – nine pets in total! Pinkett Smith tells PEOPLEPets.com that the family has two cats, two snakes and five dogs, one of whom is extra special.
Nicknamed “Beijing Black” (though his real name means “little brave” in Chinese), the Chow-husky mix was rescued by the HawthoRNe star herself from the streets of China. “He was the ugliest little puppy I’d ever seen in my life,” she says, adding that he was just 6 weeks old when she took him home. But “the ugly duckling turned into this beautiful, black, gorgeous dog.”
The family also has two huskies, a shepherd mix and a pit bull mix. And they’re open to more, thanks to good friend Cesar Millan – who encourages them to adopt!
