How a Photobombing Dog Helped His Owner Rent Out an Apartment
HOME SWEET HOME
When John and Sara Kanive posted their two-bedroom Chicago pad on Craigslist, their dog Otis was more than happy to help show off the place. “The first picture, Otis photobombed,” John tells PEOPLE. “Then I got the idea to place him in each picture.” Perhaps because of that, the apartment was rented out in less than 24 hours, John says.
We know we should be looking at the appliances, but the only thing we care about is our favorite furry photobomber. “Otis is an awesome dog,” John says. “He is full of energy and loves to play fetch – a lot.”
This is where we got confused: Was Otis trying to help his owner rent out the apartment, or was he just waiting to eat dinner?
Would you rather watch the big game on that flat-screen or continue touring the apartment with Otis? The Kanives adopted the Great Dane-German shepherd mix when he was a puppy. Now he’s 90 lbs., “but thinks he is a lap dog,” John says.
“We call him the mayor of the neighborhood,” John says, “because when he is not napping or shoving a toy in your face, he is staring out the window keeping an eye on the street.”
