Homes in Texas are being custom built with canines in mind.

According to, national homebuilder Toll Brothers is offering a dog shower option in its latest model homes in Houston’s Katy and The Woodlands areas, after noticing a growing demand from dog owners there.

“We wanted to make the home luxurious for the entire family, including our furry friends,” Joyce Syed, senior marketing specialist for Toll Brothers, told “A lot of people are dog owners and this is something that speaks to them.”

The Toll Brothers’ version of the dog shampooing station — which is fully equipped with glass doors and subway tile (as seen in the pic above, featuring Hub, the Cane Island homes canine community ambassador) — could be described as uniquely paw-some. An adjustable shower head can be set to the perfect height for any dirty fur ball. If hand showers are more preferable, those are available, too. Other options: full or half-sized shower doors, and fiberglass or tile shower pans.

It’s a canine convenience that could take-off nationwide. “Our home designs offer options to personalize according to each individual buyer’s specific needs and wants,” Syed told PEOPLE in an email. “Even though this dog shower is a feature we’ve incorporated in two of our recent model homes in Houston, options such as this one can be easily implemented in other markets especially if the market/community has many dog owners.”
