Hilary Duff's Dog Lola Dies
The actress is heartbroken after her “beautiful” Chihuahua passes away
It’s a sad time for actress Hilary Duff: She recently said goodbye to a beloved friend.
“RIP my beautiful Lola girl my heart is broken,” she wrote on Twitter Tuesday, with a photo of herself holding her tiny Chihuahua. “Say a prayer for my little angel.”
In recent years, Lola had been battling health issues. In 2012, the then 6-year-old dog had brain surgery following a bout with seizures.
“She had a shunt put in her [skull] to drain fluid off her brain and now is doing great,” Duff Tweeted at the time.
And when Duff was pregnant with her now 1-year-old son Luca in 2011, Lola was rushed to the emergency room with an eye infection.
While saying goodbye to Lola has clearly been quite emotional for Duff (“Missing my girl,” she Tweeted Wednesday, with a sweet photo of the dog), the starlet has found comfort in messages from her Twitter followers.
“Thank you for all your well wishes for my beautiful Lola it really means so much when you [are] hurting to know so many people care,” she wrote.
