Halloween Pets: Costume Parade!
Gracie the pug, playing Scarlett O’Hara in Woof with the Wind, won first place in her round and Best in Show. Her costume wasn’t just a critical hit, it was a crowd favorite as well.
He’s very pleased that he didn’t have to use his legs at all that day.
BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S
Points for punniness, elegance and for being New York-centric.
Not only did Benny the Bed Intruder dog win a prize at the parade, he also became a viral hit on the Internet in the days following.
CAPT. NACHO SPARROW
A pirate ship and a pirate all in one –that’s what we call costume efficiency.
Extra credit for the pad of butter hat.
LION & SCARECROW
Thanks to these characters from The Wizard of Oz, who stopped by the PEOPLEPets.com photo booth on their way down the Yellow Brick Road.
BUMBLEBEE & LADYBUG
Insect costumes were by far the most popular costumes at the parade – there could have been an entire round of contestants wearing bumblee outfits!
SWISS PIRATE PRINCESS YODLER
Not sure how she did it, but this dog kept her braids on for the entire parade, which lasted for hours.
TUFFY, MUNCHY & LOLA
The motley Chihuahua crew came with their mom, Lourdes Lebron (3chimom), to show off their Halloween looks: prisoner, princess and pumpkin!
QUEEN ELIZABARK I
The resemblance to the human monarch is quite uncanny.
So evil, in fact, she’s trying to trick you by dressing as a pumpkin. Don’t fall for it!
There was bound to be at least one meat dress in the crowd.
She looks convincingly flushed, but we see through her rose-colored fur (her owners used Kool-Aid).
LOBSTER MEETS HIS DESTINY
This photo was taken right before the lobster in the pot became seafood in somebody’s belly.
MR. POTATO HEAD
The potato suit was made using papier-mache, and the pooch walked around proudly displaying his owner’s handiwork.
Somebody looking for this dog? She’s totally ready to be a hero.
This surgical crew stopped by to visit during a rare break from saving lives.
This spiritual leader looks rather sage, doesn’t he?
Ironic hipster dog is so over walking that he needs to be carried.
Buzz Lightyear and Woody rolled in on a wagon that required more than 40 hours of work to create. To infinity … and beyond!
This pooch is much cuter – and more user-friendly – than a tablet device, wouldn’t you agree?
BEDBUGS & BEYOND
The most frightening costume of the day was this duo of bedbug dogs. There’s a bite that’s way scarier than a bark.
Despite being a member of the living dead, this pup was alert and ready to work the crowd.
How regal! A fitting tribute to Queen Elizabeth by the British matriarch’s favorite dog.
