Glee's Harry Shum Jr. Has an 'Almost' Dancing Dog

The dancing TV star's silky terrier likes to do the slide

Harry Shum, Jr. gives dancing feet to his Glee character Mike Chang – and, it seems, dancing paws to his dog, Charlie.

“He is almost a dancing dog!” he told PEOPLEPets.com at Rolling Stone’s Oscar Party. “Every time I run, he chases me. I stop and open my legs, and he slides right through.”

Charlie, a small silky terrier, was rescued by Shum’s Glee co-star Lea Michele, whose love for animals has led her to campaign against carriage horses – and to find new homes for stranded animals on set.

“He was all matted, homeless, no collar or anything,” Shum says of Charlie on the day Michele found him. “I just had to take him in. He is just the cutest dog.”

In spite of being a bit rough around the edges, Charlie was so desirable that Shum wasn’t the only taker – but Shum won out in the end. “I was like, ‘Nope! This little guy is mine! I feel it – we belong together!’”
