LOVE ME, LOVE MY COYOTE
In her blog, The Daily Coyote, Shreve Stockton chronicles her relationship with Charlie, the coyote she bonded with when the animal was just a pup. “Knowing Charlie, I find him completely fascinating – the intelligence and the beauty and the grace he embodies,” Stockton told PEOPLE in 2009. “People could learn so much from [coyotes].”
WHAT A LITTER!
Maddyson the Irish setter had so many mouths – 15! – to feed that she recruited the help of another setter named Liliana.
By her two front feet! Daisy the beagle, by refusing to use her legs when her paws were covered in booties, discovered she could walk using only her front paws. Said owner Brenda Leonard, “Whenever we have barbecues, family get-togethers or birthday parties, everybody wants to see Daisy do it.”
An Appaloosa walks into a bar … Henry the pony was once near death, but after Geoff Turner found him and nursed him back to health, Henry discovered he had a taste for the occasional pint. Luckily, says Turner, the thirsty pony “knows his limits.”
Ponies aren’t the only animals to enjoy a brew now and then. Bailey the bison likes beer and rides to the bar in a retrofitted 1985 Pontiac Parisienne. “He just loves riding in the car,” owner Jim Sautner tells PEOPLE. “He sticks his nose in the wind, loves the breeze in the summertime when it’s warm.”
