From Homeless to High Fashion! Rescue Dogs Pose for 'Town & Country'

The magazine features shelter animals in its latest fashion spread

How ‘bout those Jimmy Choos!

Twelve rescue dogs left the shelter for a taste of the spotlight this month, getting lensed by famed photographer Elliott Erwitt for a fashion spread in the November issue of Town & Country.

From a wirehaired dachshund mix named Hope to a Great Dane named Bellini, these dogs from the Humane Society of New York looked picture-perfect for the editorial, which was shot in New York City’s Central Park.

Though he also photographs humans, Erwitt is known for his love of dogs and has produced four books of canine-centric photography. He often shoots dogs at people’s feet.

Happily for the pooches – Dylan, Sweet Pea, Dusty, Cally, Nigel, Angelo, Sandy, Richie Jr., Gabriel, Moe, Sandy and Bellini – all of them have now found forever homes!

The new issue of Town & Country is on stands now.
