While iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove is completely happy to have her toy poodle Pearl and a cat named Midnight, there’s another animal she’d love to add to her brood: a horse.

“I’ve always said I want my own horse,” Cosgrove tells PEOPLE. “My dad is always like, ‘You won’t have time to properly take care of it.’ But I’d really like one of my own.”

The busy 16-year-old actress, who is featured in a new special issue of PEOPLE, has been riding horses for a long time and, despite a hectic schedule, she still makes time for it.”I go riding every third weekend at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank,” she tells PEOPLE. “You can rent horses and just ride with your friends. They have a sunset ride I want to do where you go up into the Hollywood Hills, and there’s a restaurant there. You let the horses rest, and you go eat and then ride back down. It sounds really cool.”

For now, Pearl and Midnight are probably quite happy to have Cosgrove all to themselves. “After work I’ll ride my bike with [Pearl] in my basket, and she totally loves it,” she says. There’s one thing Pearl isn’t very fond of, however: “She’s afraid of my cat, who’s pretty big and could probably beat her up.”
