“It’s kinda hard to question the dog,” police said

Miley is a very good girl, and now she’s been recognized by law enforcement for it.

On March 26, the Mississippi black Lab mix went out to do her business and came back bearing a torn-open trash bag. The dog’s owner inspected the find and found that it was filled with about a pound of marijuana, bagged for sale.

Contacting law enforcement to turn over the haul, Miley’s owner discovered that the trove was worth about $1,000.

“This case is still under investigation, though Miley isn’t quite as forthcoming with additional information as to what trash pile she was digging in when she found the dope,” Jones County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Allyson Knotts tells PEOPLE.  “No doubt this canine could have a future in law enforcement and we appreciate not only her efforts, but those of her owner for contacting the Sheriff’s Department.”

“This was a pretty substantial find to have just been, what seems to be, tossed aside.”

Miley will be receiving a certificate from the station for her achievement, though hopefully she doesn’t get a taste of vigilante justice and start going all Punisher on people.
