“You’ll enjoy wine, (or beer), surrounded by super playful cats!” says a Kickstarter campaign for the project

Sometimes you just need a glass of wine and a cat to cuddle.

A Denver rescue group wants to bring you both — at the same time, in the same place — because there are less fortunate people out there who don’t have access to either in their own homes.

The Denver Cat Company, the group at the helm of the project, says their “cat bar” will be the first of it’s kind in the country. The cat-loving rescue group is also behind Denver’s Original Cat Café, the second café of it’s kind to open in the U.S.

“With your continued support, we will give you an even better cat experience while bringing greater exposure to rescues. It’s time for cats + wine to become reality,” reads a message on their Kickstarter page, which has set a goal of March 2017 for the project. “You’ll enjoy wine, (or beer), surrounded by super playful cats!”

The Original Cat Café is staying right where it is, but Denver’s new cat bar location, says the group, will have a few bonuses built-in.

“You’ll be having wine, we will be able to do away with the entry fee,” says the Kickstarter message. “Any cat lover can appreciate the appeal of a cat cafe that is open late into the evening. Cats are more active and playful at night, just like their human counterparts. You’ll also be a part of creating history!”

The bar will also help adoptable felines in general. “Given the chance, we will double the number of cats we can house in a comfy, cozy, luxurious cat-centric lounge until they find homes,” the group says.

The cat bar project has raised over $4,600 on Kickstarter so far, click here to learn more.
