Cute Cares: Instagram Celebrity Pets Everywhere Are Standing Up to Cancer
TOAST THE DOG
Stand Up to Cancer, a charitable program started in 2008 that is dedicated to raising funds for cancer research, is hosting their Stand Up to Cancer telecast on September 9 at 8/7 c.
To prepare for the big event, SU2C is asking everyone to stand up and speak out about the ways cancer has affected their lives and why they think cancer research is important with the hashtag #Reasons2StandUp.
Among the countless people who answered the call to action, were numerous animal ambassadors with familiar faces who also decided to share their reasons to stand up.

Toast and her sisters wrote with their adorable Instagram shot, "Cancer Sucks! Do you know someone fighting? DM us and we will send them a special note to make them smile. That is how we are standing up to cancer! "
"This is dedicated to my real life brave and courageous bestie, who gets it from her beautiful momma," the pups of Instagram's Michcant said in their girl power message.

The Birk Dogs and their owner of Instgram's Pointandwag had a powerful reason to stand up: "Whether it's putting a smile on people's faces or helping to raise awareness for causes, our unique styles have come together by fate and happenstance to reach hundreds of thousands of people who love our pet's furry faces. Today, we're reaching out to you on behalf of #SU2C and ask that you share your stories. Whether it's your story, your parent's, your children's, your sibling's or your pet's, you're not alone in this."

Instagram account Lizzie.bear shared a personal story for SU2C, "Cancer is ruff • Cancer bites • Our dad is a cancer survivor and this is dedicated to him. Thank you for all the likes and comments on our previous post. We are proudly wearing our @su2c shirts in the hopes that more people will join us and share their story!"

One of the LifeofMill rabbits took the phrase "Stand Up to Cancer" very seriously and posted a picture of her getting ready to help end cancer for good.

Pretty pooch Maya the Bulldog put on her best evening wear to battle cancer and the countless people it affects.

Holly got up on her hind legs to raise awareness about the people she knows personally who were affected by cancer.

The pet parent to Finn the dog shared her emotional story about how cancer has affecetd the life of her family directly: "This is my oldest, Sydney, getting kisses from Finn. She was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of brain tumor one year ago this month. We went through 8 months of intense chemo where Sydney never left the hospital. Our family was split between two states. It was the hardest year of our lives...but here we are. What a fighter this girl is. For all those out there who have experienced cancer in one way or another, we hope this message brings you strength, love and hope."
