If you stayed up late enough to watch the tail end of the Golden Globes last night, then you caught Mickey Rourke’s shout out to his dogs in his acceptance speech for Best Actor for his work in The Wrestler. “I’d like to thank all my dogs. The ones that are here, the ones that aren’t here anymore because sometimes when a man’s alone, that’s all you got is your dog. And they’ve meant the world to me,” he said. We think a collective “Awww” might have been heard around the world when he said this, if you listened closely. Click above to see his touching moment on stage.

The actor reportedly has four Chihuahuas and his pal, Entourage actor Kevin Dillon, tells PEOPLE that they’ve always been there for him. “He wanted to thank his dogs because they were the only ones who were there for him during the tough times, and I love that!” Dillon says. “I have two beautiful dogs at home and they’re always there for me, too.”
