Lifestyle Pets Camilla Parker Bowles Wants to Leave Australia – with a Koala! During their Diamond Jubilee visit to Adelaide, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall cuddle up to a pair of 9-month-old rescued marsupials By Amy Jamieson Published on November 7, 2012 10:00 PM Share Tweet Pin Email They saved the best for last! After a long day of speeches, handshakes and wine tastings, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla wrapped up their Diamond Jubilee visit to Melbourne and Adelaide, Australia, with something incredibly cute: two baby koalas! At a garden party at Adelaide’s Government House on Wednesday, the royals each held a 9-month old koala – one named Matilda, the other Kao (short for chaos) – saved by rescue volunteers Warren and Rae Campbell. Though she met a cuddly kangaroo named Ruby Bloo on Monday in the Australian outback, the Duchess of Cornwall was particularly smitten with the pair of marsupials. According to Clarence House’s Storify post about the visit, she wanted to take one home to the U.K. Camilla’s rescue dogs Bluebell and Beth couldn’t be reached for comment on that.
