Boy's Best Friend: Puppies Keep Lost Child Warm
Missing for 21 hours, authorities find Jaylynn Thorpe sitting by a tree with his puppies by his side.
A 3-year-old boy lost in a forest is safe and sound now after his puppies kept him warm in chilling temperatures. And these weren’t just any puppies – they just happen to be insanely cute puppies! And the kid is equally adorable!
Jaylynn Thorpe’s family of Halifax County, Va., was worried sick after he wandered away from his babysitter on Friday. According to the Daily News, authorities said the boy wandered up to a mile in the dark and – believe it or not – across a highway, as temperatures dipped into the teens. Searchers discovered the boy 21 hours later sitting by a tree with the two puppies beside him, keeping him warm.
“When I first saw him, he was like, ‘Momma, I got cold. I slept in the woods last night. The puppies kept me warm.’ He told me that … the dogs slept up against him. And I’m sure the body heat kept him warm,” his mother, Sarah Ingram, told the newspaper.
