Josh Breaux of Pierre Part, Louisiana, doesn’t need to trespass for quality dog cuddle time anymore.

The 9-year-old — who became famous online after a Facebook post with security camera footage from his neighbors’ house showed him sneaking into their garage to hug their dog Duchess — now has a puppy of his own.

It’s something he and the countless fans he earned by sneaking snuggles from Duchess have been hoping for since the endearing footage was released this summer. Several of the people who watched the clip even wrote the family and offered to give them a dog for Josh.

According to ABC News, Josh’s mom, Ginger Breaux, waited until now to adopt a pup for the boy because the family lost their pet dog in 2015 and she didn’t want to rush into getting a new one.

“We had our dog Bella since Josh was 2, but she passed away last year,” she wrote on Facebook. “Things have been busy and Josh is active with after-school activities so we have not jumped back into taking on the responsibility of starting all over again with a new pup quite yet.”

With school in session and things a little calmer around the house, the Breaux family decided it was time to care for a dog again. The lucky pup joining the Breauxs is a 3-month-old black Labrador puppy named Drake, who previously belonged to a neighbor’s son who went off to college and could no longer care for the dog.

Not surprisingly, Drake fit in instantaneously with his new family — but that doesn’t mean Josh has forgotten about his hug buddy Duchess.

“Josh still goes to see Dutchess on occasion,” his mom wrote on the World News Tonight Facebook page. “Myself and my daughter also stop to visit her a few days a week when we go walk. My daughter loves playing and giving her hugs.”
