And they’re off! President Barack Obama challenges his new pooch to a race through the White House halls on April 13. Bo was reportedly trained for several weeks before joining the First Family – though he didn’t yet know how to swim!

Bo takes in his new surroundings on April 14 with his happy family in tow. Just after his arrival, President Obama told reporters that the perky pup would be allowed in the Oval Office, but not the presidential bed.

Who’s walking who? President Obama relieves some stress on April 14 while jogging with his pup. Later that year, they’d share an even better moment: The announcement of Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize win on Bo’s birthday.
