Thanksgiving weekend is one of the busiest times to travel. Millions make trips to see family and friends; some not by choice.

A bobcat was forced on a 50-mile road trip through Gloucester, Virginia, on Thursday. According to WRIC, a woman driving to work on Thanksgiving morning unknowingly hit a bobcat with her car.

The impact awkwardly lodged the animal in the grill of the car, where the bobcat remained until the driver parked her vehicle and noticed the feline.

Richmond Animal Care and Control helped the driver safely remove the kitty critter from the front of the car and took the bobcat to the Wildlife Center of Virginia for treatment.

Thankfully, the bobcat was not injured from his collision with the car aside from a few scratches. The center plans to release the animal back into the wild soon, where he will hopefully avoid anymore hitchhiker-turned-hostage situations.
