The Obamas touched down on Martha’s Vineyard yesterday, ready for a week of rest and relaxation. And no one is more ready for some much-needed time off than the family dog, Bo. “He has a big stack of books to get through,” a White House spokesperson jokes to PEOPLE Pets. “But he isn’t sure he’ll have the time with all of the long naps.”

All kidding aside, the island community has truly welcomed Bo with open arms. Shirts, hats and even hand soap featuring Bo’s likeness have been created and sold in shops around the island, according to the New York Daily News. And a dog parade – which attracted more than 200 attendees – was thrown last night in Bo’s honor, though the first pup did not attend. What a party pooper!

The Obamas introduced Bo – a gift from Sen. Ted Kennedy – in April. The adorable Portuguese water dog, who’s now 10 months old, has since become a media darling, appearing at various events with the First Family. We hope to catch more glimpses of Bo throughout the week!
