Bethenny Frankel has a packed and well-publicized social calendar, but there is someone the Real Housewives of New York City star always makes time for no matter what: Cookie.
For 16 years, Cookie has been Frankel’s loyal canine companion, with the pair first finding each other when the senior dog was just a puppy. Now, the duo recently celebrated Cookie’s 16th birthday, but age is just a number to this posh pup.
To celebrate their 16 years of friendship both Cookie and Frankel took a break from their busy schedules to talk to PEOPLE about love, belly rubs and vacationing in the Hamptons.
How did you and Cookie come together?
I bought her at a mutt puppy store in Chicago. She was brown and the rest of the litter was white, so she was the last, unwanted ugly duckling. She was 75 bucks and they said I could return her the next day if I wanted to.
How did you know Cookie was the dog for you?
She was so cute and looked like a chocolate chip cookie. Love at first snuggle.
What has Cookie taught you?
To be loyal and that you don’t have to love everyone. Quality vs quantity. She has a tight crew and she would kill for them.
What is your favorite way to spoil Cookie?
Belly rubs & staying in bed all day.
What is your favorite thing to do with cookie?
Snuggle and ride in the car to the Hamptons.
How does Cookie feel about being on TV?
She never wanted fame and isn’t fazed by it, but somehow when that camera goes on, she never fails to steal the scene.
If Cookie could choose to be on any TV show, what do you think she would pick?
Nothing with other dogs. The most mellow show ever — she would enjoy shooting a yoga video in Hawaii.
What does Cookie have planned next?
She will be spending a lot of time in the Hamptons waiting for the fall so she can sleep on her faux fur throw. She is currently very happy with my choice in men, so she has had no shortage of snuggles and love recently.
