Bernadette Peters founded Broadway Barks with Mary Tyler Moore and now works with over 27 animals shelters

Bernadette Peters knows how to bring people together not just with her talent, but also her deep love for animals.

Eighteen years ago the Broadway star and Mary Tyler Moore founded Broadway Barks, a star-studded pet adoption event in New York City that benefits the animal shelters and agencies of The Big Apple.

On July 30, the 18th Annual Broadway Barks will kick off on Shubert Alley at 3 p.m. hosted by Peters and Gloria Estefan. Before the animals arrive, both hosts will be signing posters and debuting the Broadway Barks bracelet, which can also be found on the event’s website for those who can’t attend. All the profits from poster and bracelet sales will be donated directly back to the animal organizations.

Unable to resist the allure of adorable animals, dozens of celebrities — including Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Sean Hayes, Bebe Neuwirth, and Hamilton‘s Rory O’Malley — will be on site to introduce guests to loving cats and dogs looking for a forever home.

There will also be 27 different shelters at Broadway Barks to help you find the perfect furry costar for your life.

Now you have plans for the weekend!
