She’s fallen, but she’s going to get up.

After dropping from a tree when a branch got cut down, this baby gray squirrel not only became separated from her mother, she was left badly bruised by the fall.

A nearby couple rescued the squirrel, took her to the Wildlife Aid Foundation in Surrey, England, for help, and she has been hand-fed a special milk formula ever since.

She also received a tiny purple bandage for one of her legs, and got her new name, Violet, in the process.

“Violet is a little fighter and is coping very well,” says the foundation’s Lucy Kells. “I’m really hopeful she will be fine.”
