Sorry sci-fi fans, cats have figured out the secret to teleportation, or at least Ozzie has.

The free spirited feline was found by Armagh Cats Protection wandering around Northern Island looking weak and hungry, reports Mashable.

The shelter took the cat in and scanned him for a microchip, what they found was a puzzle. Ozzie was microchipped, but the stored information said he belonged to a cat lover in Sydney, Australia.

So how did Ozzie get across all that water to the other side of the world? That’s what everyone is trying to figure out.

Cats Protection has attempted to reach out to the listed owner, but have hadn’t any luck yet. It’s believed that Ozzie first made it over to the United Kingdom in 2004, because a London vet has records for the kitty at that time. These papers still don’t answer how the curious cat made his way to Northern Ireland.

“We are desperate to unravel the rest of this cat’s past and hopefully reunite him with his owners,” Cats Protection coordinator Gillian McMullen said. “We have been in touch with the Australian Animal Register and have our fingers and paws crossed on word from them on this cat.”

Until then, affectionate Ozzie is enjoying his time resting at the shelter, which is full of food and friendly faces.
