“It is a very inconvenient habit of kittens (Alice had once made the remark), that whatever you say to them, they always purr.” — Lewis Carroll, Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There

Disney, the authority on all things sweet and magical, has done it again. The latest video from the new digital series Disney IRL and partner Paws in Effect has taken two beloved subjects — Alice’s Wonderland tea party and a clowder of super-cute kittens — and created a mash-up so adorable, we can’t resist meowing about it to everyone we know.

In the clip above, you’ll meet furry versions of a bewigged and whiskered Alice, the White Queen, the Red Queen and the “Mad Catter,” looking very Johnny Depp-esque, of course. They drink from saucers and teacups, which may or may not be heavy on the cream, and dreamily purr, mew and sometimes growl and hiss at each other.

By the time “Time” arrives, the kit-tea party becomes a bit dark and trippy, but like most Disney tales, this seriously silly scene ends on a happy note: The cats who were cast by animal talent agency Paws in Effect are all eligible for adoption now.

Alice Through the Looking Glass will be released on Blu-Ray and Digital HD worldwide on Oct. 18.
