For every pet living with a happy family, there is an animal in a shelter waiting to find a loving home. Today we’d like you to meet Shea, a loveable city dog who will be in New York City’s Washington Square Park on Sunday, looking for a new forever home.

This 9-year-old beagle-golden retriever mix, who’s currently staying with the Picasso Veterinary Fund, might just be the perfect urban pet. At 30 lbs. she’s petite for her breed, making her a great match for apartment dwellers. She’s mellow and gets along with other animals. And, she loves walks around the neighborhood. A street rescue, Shea is a sweet dog – anyone who meets her falls in love with her!

Due to her age, Shea has to take an inexpensive supplement for her arthritis (those years catch up to everyone), but she has no other major health issues. “She is a wonderful dog,” says the Picasso Veterinary Fund, an organization that funds lifesaving medical treatment for homeless pets.

The Picasso Veterinary Fund, along with Shea and other animals, will be at Adoptapalooza in New York City’s Washington Square Park on Sunday, Sept. 12. Stop by this free event to meet all the wonderful adoptable pets – and to meet a few of us from!
