Home. Some pets never have one to call their own. We’d like to help change that by introducing you to an extraordinary adoptable pet every week. Today, meet Timber, a sweet husky who recently survived a harrowing ordeal.

Timber was thrown from a moving truck on the bustling Highway 35 in Round Rock, Texas, when he was just a young pup. A concerned citizen immediately stopped and helped the dog – who miraculously wasn’t injured – off the highway and took him to a local shelter. He was later taken in by a foster family from the Texas Sweeties Dog Rescue in Austin.

Despite what happened to him, Timber is upbeat, affectionate and still rides well in cars. “[His] favorite thing to do is run, play chase and wrestle with his dog friends,” says the rescue’s president Sarah Tirone.

Though Timber is full of energy and athleticism (he once climbed up a lifeguard chair!), he is definitely capable of slowing down for a cuddle or a belly rub. The 50-lb. pooch is the perfect companion for a person with an active lifestyle.

“This sweet boy has been with us for a while and we just don’t understand why,” Tirone adds.
