Home: Some pets never have one to call their own. We’d like to help change that by introducing you to an extraordinary, adoptable pet every week. Today, meet Spanky, a 5-year-old white shepherd, who thought he had found his forever home a year and a half ago.

Spanky McSpankster, as he’s affectionately called by the Eleventh Hour Rescue in Randolph, New Jersey, was adopted over a year ago but returned when he failed to get along with a canine roommate.

The 70 lb. pooch, who isn’t particularly fond of cats either, is described as a fun-loving pup who is always ready to go on an adventure with his people — looking for a spring break companion? Look no further than Spanky.

“He is housebroken and is good with people of all ages,” reads the dog’s bio. “Spanky is a gentle soul who walks well on a leash and loves to go for car rides. Although he likes to play with his toys, he would rather be by your side, as he is a people lover.”

Sadly, despite all the love this happy boy has to give, he’s heartbroken being back in the kennel after living in a cozy home with a family.

If you can help Spanky find his way back to a loving home, contact Eleventh Hour Rescue at 973-664-0865.
