Home: Some pets never have one to call their own. We’d like to help change that by introducing you to an extraordinary, adoptable pet every week. Today, meet Mackenzie, a pretty 4-month-old Doberman mix recently rescued from Virginia.

North Shore Animal League America is caring for this crazy cute puppy who is learning more and more every day — like basic commands and how to walk properly on a leash. Mackenzie loves other dogs and would do well in a home with a feline friend, too.

“This mellow pup loves treats and belly rubs. Her ears perk up when she hears a squeaky toy and she enjoys playing with her two-legged friends,” said kennel manager Rosie Tombolo.

Once she’s full grown, Mackenzie will likely be between 45 and 65 lbs. Looking for a summer sidekick? Look no further than this sweet girl. If you are interested in adopting her or learning more, contact kennel manager Rachael Rudman at with the ID number: V34150.
