Adopt Me! Lovable Andy Can't Wait to Cuddle with You
Found in a Dumpster, this 8-month-old kitten has bounced back from the brink
Home. Some pets never have one to call their own. We’d like to help change that by introducing you to an extraordinary adoptable pet every week. Meet Andy, a kitten left for dead in an Ohio Dumpster.
Just a few months ago, life was looking pretty grim for 4-month-old Andy. His ears were infected and he was infested with fleas after he was found crawling in a trash receptacle at a Speedway gas station.
A volunteer for the Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals found him and took him to the shelter right away.
They discovered that he had a painful ear polyp that need to be removed immediately. (Because there’s a 10 to 20 percent chance it could grow back, any potential owner needs to take him for check-ups every six months.)
Despite what happened to him, Andy is sweet and lovable.
“He loves to cuddle and will climb up right on top of you,” says Teresa Landon, director of the shelter. “He’s healthy, playful and gets along with cats and dogs.”
In his time at the Ohio SPCA, he’s reached a healthy weight, too – and will definitely get bigger as he reaches adulthood. “He’s not reach his full size yet,” says Landon. “He’s in perfect shape right now.”
