Home: Some pets never have one to call their own. We’d like to help change that by introducing you to an extraordinary, adoptable pet every week. Today, meet Kismet, an adorable shepherd mix who is lucky to be living life to the fullest right now.
Just two weeks ago, A Purposeful Rescue of Los Angeles scrambled to save the 8-year-old pup (far left pup in the photo) from the euthanasia list at a Downey, California, shelter.
“He was a dead dog walking and his kennel card note read ‘abandoned by owner,’ ” reads a Facebook post from the rescue shared on Wednesday. “Look at him NOW!!!!! He has an awesome foster family in [West Hollywood], has a pack of homies to hang out with who take him on outings, and life is better than he could have ever imagined! THIS is why we rescue!”
Until Kismet finds a permanent home, he and his buddies are clearly making the most of their time together — fun is what you’ll have when you spend time with Kismet, too.
“Kismet truly embodies the phrase ‘canine companion’ – He loves big people, little people, other dogs, car rides, and nice, relaxing walks around our neighborhood,” says his foster parent, Ken Nolan. “His soulful brown eyes speak volumes, but he seldom barks, and he also loves to nap in whatever room we happen to be in. He doesn’t ask for much, but gives of himself completely in return!”
If you think this cutie is the friend for you, fill out an adoption application on A Purposeful Rescue’s website.
