For every pet living with a happy family, there is an animal in a shelter waiting to find a loving home. Today, we’d like you to meet Cha Cha, a boxer-mastiff mix who’s more than ready for a forever family.

Cha Cha came to New York’s Animal Haven by way of a municipal shelter, along with her litter of puppies. Though all of her babies found homes, this 3-year-old mama is still waiting to discover hers. Cha Cha responds well to basic commands, and is enthusiastic about everyone – and everything!

The sweet pooch is a favorite of Real Housewives of New York City star Kelly Bensimon, who adopted her dog Chief from Animal Haven, and visits the SoHo shelter on a regular basis. Check out the clip above to hear Bensimon sing Cha Cha’s praises – and to see the pup in action!

Animal Haven is a non-profit that places abandoned cats and dogs in homes throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Founded in 1967, the organization operates a limited-admission shelter/adoption center in New York City, as well as a mobile adoption van. The shelter also promotes animal care awareness through educational programs for pet owners.

Animal Haven relies on donations to continue its animal rescue operations, so visit the organization’s website to learn how you can help.
