Home. Some pets never have one to call their own. We’d like to help change that by introducing you to an extraordinary adoptable pet every week. Today, meet Blue, a pug mix currently being cared for by San Francisco’s Animal Care & Control.

Despite his attempts to emulate Grumpy Cat, Blue the dog is a very happy, friendly little pooch. He’s described as “clownish” by staff at the shelter, who’ve deemed him a favorite.

The 4-year-old pup was found recently by a professional dog walker who was out walking several dogs when a car skidded to a stop and dumped Blue on the street. The fact that he was abandoned so callously hasn’t made Blue blue though, he’s happy as can be and always up for the chance to play or run. He also enjoys a breather on the couch, so if you need a buddy to watch your favorite shows with you, Blue is your guy.

The shelter says he likes to keep busy and would do well in an active household. If you think Blue is the boy for you, contact San Francisco’s Animal Care & Control at 415-554-6364 with the dog’s number handy, A375215.

The shelter is participating in Overstock.com and NBCUniversal’s #ClearTheShelters campaign, a nationwide pet adoption drive that will bring together more than 300 animal shelters across the country on August 15 to help animals find loving homes. To read more about that, click here.
