Here’s further proof that you should thoroughly screen prospective dog walkers.

The New York Post reports that a dog walker traded Sugar, client Morgan Bogle’s 4-year-old pit bull, for PCP (“Angel Dust”) while he was out with the dog on a walk and never brought him home.

That’s what Bogle alleges in the lawsuit filed last month, weeks after her dog first went missing on Feb. 23 when her dog walker, Tommy Doerr, lost possession of her dog. Doerr says that he had “an unexplained psychotic episode” and has no recollection of what happened to Sugar.

Bogle says she has reason to believe that Doerr traded her pup for drugs. When her very-much-former dog walker was detained by the police, they “found him in possession of a controlled substance, believed to be PCP,” Bogle says in court documents.

The papers also state that Bogle is “rapidly losing hope that Sugar will ever be found alive,” despite the fact that she’s made several social media posts with the hashtag #findsugarnyc and offered a $10,000 reward.

Meanwhile, Doerr has countersued Bogle, accusing her of defamation and falsifying his drug use.
