Charles the pig miraculously survived the wildfires that burned through Gatlinburg, Tennessee, burying himself in mud for protection. He was taken to a University of Tennessee Veterinary Hospital for a check up, where he was found to have damage from smoke inhalation and several painful burns. Having already lost so much, Charles family was having trouble covering the medical costs for their miracle pig. Thankfully, kind animal lovers quickly raised the money for the expenses and then some.

Michael’s owner did not have the funds for the surgery, and was told his other options were surrendering the dog or having the arm amputated.
