It’s not even Valentine’s Day yet, but everyone should just stay home and order take-out because the best grand romantic gesture of all time has already happened.

When Rob Micallef decided it was time to pop the question to girlfriend of four years Jessica Sammut, he enlisted the help of some very special (and very, very adorable) friends: 15 French bulldogs. PEOPLE has all of the exclusive photos of what we’d describe as the best follow-up ever to October’s pug proposal.

Collaborating with the “A Frenchie in Brooklyn” Meetup group, Micallef planned his Saturday proposal around Frenchies because his now-fiancée is obsessed with the breed.

The couple, who lives in Brooklyn, N.Y., took an afternoon stroll through Fort Greene Park, where they crossed paths with group leader Tiffany Nakamura walking a Frenchie wearing a heart-shaped balloon. Micallef suggested they follow the dog because … because why not?

The Frenchie led them to – wait for it – more Frenchies! A group of 15 dogs was gathered at the park’s Prison Ship Martyrs’ Monument alongside their owners, who held posters. When Micallef signaled, they flipped over their signs to reveal the message: “MARRY ME JESS.”

“Yes!” she responded when Micallef got down on both knees with the ring in his hands. The crowd cheered and a trumpet player serenaded the soon-to-be newlyweds.

But there was one condition, Sammut added, pointing to the Frenchies. “I’m more interested in the dogs!”
