With his life constantly in the spotlight, Usher finds the simplicity of fatherhood refreshing.

“It is about being home with my sons,” he told reporters Thursday at the Fifi Awards in New York City. “They paint me some incredible pictures and give me the hugs of life.”

Forget about the lavish gifts this Father’s Day. The R&B singer only wants one thing from his sons, Usher ‘Cinco’ Raymond V, 2½, and Naviyd Ely, 18 months.

“They’re not quite at the age where I want them to cook breakfast for me,” he says with a laugh. “But they definitely should try to make me the best cereal they can.”

While Usher has had quite the year — after ending his two-year marriage last fall, he debuted a new album, a new fragrance, and became the Fragrance Foundation’s 2010 Fragrance Celebrity of the Year — he may have found love again.

“I found it … with fragrance,” he says coyly. “It’s the one thing that stays on when everything else comes off.”

As for the ladies? Usher, 31, wants you to know he’s loved and learned.

“Love is a journey and an adventure,” he says. “And love that I have had in the past has shown me that hopefully when I do find the right woman, I’ll be great for her and she’ll be incredible for me.”
