Fist Bump
When it was first announced that golf legend Tiger Woods and his 11-year-old son Charlie would be playing together in the PNC Championship in Orlando the weekend of Dec. 19-20, Woods told PGA in a statement, "I can't tell you how excited I am to be playing with Charlie in our first official tournament together. It's been great watching him progress as a junior golfer and it will be incredible playing as a team together in the PNC Championship."

Getting Into Golf
Woods told GOLF TV in July 2020 that Charlie is "starting to get into" the sport and is "starting to understand how to play."
"He's asking me the right questions. I've kept it competitive with his par, so it's been just an absolute blast to go out there and just be with him. It reminds me so much of me and my dad," Woods said.Â

On the Green
Woods was extremely close with his late father, Earl Woods, whom he once called his "best friend and greatest role model."Â
Now, the golf pro shares a close relationship (and the love of the game) with his own son. A source told PEOPLE, however, that Tiger has a different approach when it comes to Charlie.
"Tiger loves spending time with Charlie on the golf course, but he has a completely different vibe than Earl had while working with him," an insider told PEOPLE. "Earl would sometimes be very strict."

Lots of Laughs
A source said of the pair, "They're all smiles. Tiger is definitely teaching him the right techniques, but there's not the intensity that Earl had with him. It's a total bonding situation. Tiger can get goofy and funny with Charlie. It's not 'all work and no play' like Earl could sometimes get."
