The First-Daughters-to-be snap photos of their favorite stars – Beyoncé! Usher! Sheryl Crow! – at the 'We Are One': Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., on January 18th. The next night, the girls shared the stage with the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus at the Kids Inaugural Concert.
Both girls wear J. Crew’s CrewCuts wool pique Herbie coats from their Fall 2009 collection. Malia’s is dove-gray with horn buttons; Sasha’s is off-white with brass buttons.
The girls display their back-to-school angst – and excitement! – as they prepare to begin day one at Maryland's prestigious Sidwell Friends School on January 5th, 2009. Numerous presidential children have attended Sidwell, including Chelsea Clinton.
America's new First Family stands united in a rousing nighttime rally in Chicago on November 4th, 2008, after Barack Obama is named the 44th president of the United States.
Malia and Sasha's dresses started a mini fashion craze, as shoppers scooped up the girls' frocks for their own daughters. Malia's Precious Jewels Christmas Party Dress with Bubble Hem ($110) from Biscotti Girls sold out nationally, while Sasha's black bow dress by Gerson amp Gerson Inc. was quite popular as well.
Barack looks every bit the doting dad as he, Malia and Sasha arrive at a rally at JFK Stadium in Springfield, Mo., on November 1st, just days before the election.
TRICK OR TREAT
Staying true to his word in keeping his daughters' lives as normal as possible, Barack leads Sasha by the hand as the two trick-or-treat on October 31st in the family's Chicago neighborhood.
Taking to the national stage for the first time, Malia and Sasha wave to the crowd on August 25th at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colo., after their mom's speech. The girls charmed audiences that evening when they spoke to their dad live via satellite, interrupting him to say, "I love you!"
Then-Democratic presidential candidate Barack enjoys a little one-on-one time with daughter Malia August 13th during a family vacation in Kailua, Hawaii.
