After years of struggling to have a baby, actress Nicole Kidman, 41, gave birth to her first child with husband Keith Urban, Sunday Rose, on July 7, 2008. "We feel immensely blessed and grateful to be given this beautiful baby girl," said the couple in an official statement. "She's an absolute delight." Nicole is also mom to Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13, with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise.
Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross was 44 when she and husband Tom Mahoney welcomed fraternal twin girls, Eden and Savannah, on February 20, 2006. As Marcia says, the 1 y-year-olds are already best friends. "The pleasure they get from each other is beyond the sweetest thing I have ever seen between two people. I know that bond will continue to grow day by day."
The 41-year-old Oscar winner was so thrilled to be pregnant with daughter Nahla that she didn't mind the usual downsides. "The morning sickness and the vomiting and the hot sweats," said the actress, who gave birth on March 16, 2008, "I loved every second of it." The new mom's joy comes after she and boyfriend Gabriel Aubry tried to conceive for a long time. As she told Oprah, "I saved all of the negative tests in a drawer .... After about 35 tests, we finally got a positive test!"
Actress Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, 41, was much more at ease when her fraternal twin boys Jax Joseph and Jaid Thomas were born on October 18, 2007 than when she had her first son Oliver 16 years earlier. As she told Pregnancy magazine: "My career was just starting and I was younger, so I was a little nervous about that. Now, I think, because people have embraced babies and going back to work, I'm definitely more at ease with it all."
In light of speculation that she used fertility treatments, CNN anchorwoman and lawyer Nancy Grace, 48, who gave birth to her first children, John David and Lucy Elizabeth on November 4, 2007, refuses to comment on how her twins were conceived. However, speaking with Good Housekeeping in June, she stated, "Let me say this: They are my children. They look like me and my husband, and I can only hope that they get the best of our qualities."

After a two-year fertility struggle, Helena Bonham Carter, 41, became pregnant during production of Sweeney Todd. Filming during the difficult first trimester "wasn't ideal. I was totally spaced out," she said, "but then I was so happy to be pregnant." She gave birth to her second child with director boyfriend Tim Burton – daughter Nell – on December 14, 2007.
When it comes to raising daughters Rowan, 5, and Grier, 2, Brooke Shields, 43, is trying to instill that beauty is more than skin deep. Once named "The Most Beautiful Woman in the World," Brooke says "obviously, I think [Rowan and Grier] are the most beautiful creatures in the world ... but I try not to tell them that all the time." Instead, she hopes to boost their self-esteem with positive affirmations like 'You're smart' or 'What a strong girl you are' or 'What wonderful manners you have!' "
