Tampa Bay Devil Rays catcher Dioner Navarro, 22, and his family were involved in a traffic accident on Tuesday, July 4. The catcher, along with his wife, Sherley, and nine-month-old son, Dioner Abdiel Navarro Jr., were in his sports utility vehicle when another vehicle tapped the rear end causing him to hit another car and flip twice.
"At the moment I didn’t realize how bad it was. My wife got out, I reached into the back seat and got the baby and handed him to her. Then I crawled passenger side and saw the damage," he said. The vehicle was totaled. Dioner walked away with just a scratch on the wrist and a cut above one of his ankles requiring two stitches while his wife had a bump on the back of her head. Their son was uninjured.
