Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria Has a Baby Girl
The infant is second in line to the throne, after her mother
It’s a royal baby!
Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and her husband, Prince Daniel, welcomed a baby girl on Thursday – an infant who will one day be queen.
“The Crown Princess feels radiant, she is so happy,” Daniel told reporters at the hospital, the Stockholm News reports. “Both the little daughter and the Crown Princess are doing great.”
The baby weighed 7 lbs., 3 oz. and was born at 4:26 a.m. local time at Stockholm’s Karolinska Hospital. Her grandfather, King Carl Gustaf, is expected to announce her name on Friday.
As the first-born child of the king, Victoria, 34, is first in line to the Swedish throne. Her baby daughter is now second in line.
Daniel, who is Victoria’s former personal trainer, reflected on first-time fatherhood, saying: “This is a new situation, something you never experienced before. To deliver the baby is always associated with certain risks, but everything has gone exceptionally well.”
