Celebrity Parents Stuff for Sprouts: Natural skincare for kids who crunch By Staff Author Published on March 3, 2008 08:00 AM Share Tweet Pin Email One of my favorite times of day is when my husband presents me with my daughter right after her bath and I get to butter her up with lotion before changing her into her pj’s and tucking her in for the night. I never had a thing for skin-care products until I had a kid whose skin reacted really strongly to even the so-called “gentle” skin care products on the market. After dealing with one bumpy rash too many I started collecting natural skin care products — always careful to read the ingredients to make sure they were truly free of artificial fillers and preservatives. Not too long ago I was presented with products from the Stuff for Sprouts skin care line and I instantly fell in love. Not only is it great, it also smells so good that I want to eat it! Made by a mom (of course!) to cure her crunchy kid of dry skin, Stuff for Sprouts’ products are made of truly natural (allergen free) ingredients. The formulas, which are very high in natural butters and oils, are chosen specifically for their beneficial properties for dry, sensitive skin. Also notable is what the formula does not contain: no parabens, no nut oils or butters, no mineral oil, no animal products, no soy, no artificial colors, no chemical fillers (and, of course, no animal testing). We tried the Cream for Extra Crunchy Kidsin both of the available fragrances, Front Lawn and Blueberry Muffin, with me liking the first one best but with my two-year-old LOVING the latter (Iseriously had to beg her to stop licking her arm the first time we usedit). This cream actually arrived at a time when I was beside myselftrying to figure out why my daughter had dry-skin bumps on her upperarms and thighs and this cream took care of the problem in three daysso I can’t recommend it enough. We actually used it exclusively untilit ran out so I would suggest buying the bigger tube if you arereally struggling with eczema or severe dry skin. We also tested out the Lip Stuff for Crispy Kissersin the chocolate flavor. The first thing I have to mention is that thechap stick is packaged to look like a travel-size deodorant bar soevery time my daughter would apply it in public, some well-meaningperson would always try to stop her which I found hilarious (but whichmy daughter did not think was funny at all). The point of the packaging is that you can just give it one swoop over your kid’s face and cover their lips and chin all at once (if you live in a cold climate I don’t have to explain that one to you!). It’s also shaped well to get at cheeks too. You can also just turn it sideways to get at your lips but I let my two-year-old use it on her own and she manages well and loves it. However, I will say that my one caveat is that it tastes great — almost too great if you know what I mean — so you have to supervise carefully lest your child think she’s allowed to take a bite out of it (not that it would do any damage but, well, I’d rather my kid not eat chap stick as if it were a snack bar). Seriously though, I highly recommend Stuff for Sprouts. At the very least, you can always try it out and if you don’t like it, get your money back. But I love this stuff so much that I am sure that the only reason why you’ll return to the site is to reorder.
