The married couple, who dressed in gender-specific polka dot ensembles, invited several of the mother-to-be’s Dallas girlfriends for a fun day filled with games and ice cream. “A sweet, sweet shower thanks to my lovely friends and @coldstone,” Giudici Lowe, 30, captioned a photo from the shower.
“Catherine had a wonderful time. They played games and ate ice cream and got silly with the flamingos,” Lowe, 32, told E! News. “More than anything, it was a great time for her and her girlfriends to celebrate her and the baby on the way. She was so appreciative and grateful. It was just her Dallas girlfriends, about 15 or 20 of them.”
Guests took part in several activities including a “Bachelor or Bachelorette” guessing game as the parents-to-be are keeping the baby’s sex a surprise, though they both think a baby boy is on his way.
While they’re looking forward to first-time parenthood, Lowe shared they have recruited some trusted babysitters. “Her mom and her sister are coming to stay with us for about a month once the baby is born,” he explained. “I know to most husbands that might sound daunting, but we love them and we’re excited about it.”
In addition, their new 4,000 square foot Dallas home is located right near family members. “If we need to drop off the baby they can babysit, it won’t be a problem,” he said.
The pair, who captured America’s hearts on season 17 of The Bachelor, celebrated two years of marriage in January. They announced their baby news a month before in December with sweet photos on Instagram.
One thing they do already know are their name choices, but they’re keeping them a secret. “We have settled on a boy name, but the girl name is still in progress,” Giudici Lowe told PEOPLE. “The boy name was easy,” she said as her husband added, “Yeah, we decided that, like, two years ago.”
