Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are both starring on the upcoming season of Disney’s animated Star Wars Rebels but according to the actress, her husband gets way more credit for his role with their children’s friends than she does.

PEOPLE caught up with Gellar at the Mamarazzi event celebrating Foodstirs, the actress’ new baking kit venture, in New York City on Wednesday, and she revealed what their 6-year-old daughter Charlotte‘s pals think of her and Prinze’s roles.

“My joke is that — it’s not a joke, it’s kind of sad actually, because Freddie is on [Star Wars Rebels] and so all the kids at school are like, ‘That’s Charlotte’s daddy. He’s a Jedi,’ ” Gellar tells PEOPLE. “‘And that’s her mom, she drives carpool.’ ”

She jokes, “I was like, ‘I’ve got to get come cred with these kids!’ ”

Prinze, 39, has voiced the character of Kanan the Cowboy Jedi since the first season of Star Wars Rebels.

Gellar, 38, signed onto the show’s second season in March. She will be voicing the Seventh Sister, an Inquisitor working for the Galactic Empire.

In addition to Charlotte, Gellar and Prinze are also parents to son Rocky, 3 — and according to the actress, the youngster has quite the sweet tooth.

Recently, Gellar was testing out a recipe for brownie popsicles — which happen to be Charlotte’s favorite dessert — for her new baking kit.

“My son kept asking for them and Charlotte was like, ‘No, no, no,’ ” Gellar shares. “Then I think she went to the bathroom — man, he climbed up on her chair and grabbed and ate the whole thing before she came back!”

Gellar adds that a lot of her ideas for recipes come from her children.

“It’s great because it’s a great experience to test them,” Gellar explains. “They’re experts now, they know best, they’re always telling us how to do stuff. But that is where inspiration comes from.”
